Adobe Spark Video is a video tool for making slide animation videos. The video is made up of slides where you can add pictures, video, text, icons and speak. It's a bit like working in PowerPoint except the product becomes a video.
Adobe Spark Video stands out for the way you make a video. You make it like a slide show with a lot of individual slides. For each slide, you can make an explanatory voice-over.
If you talk for more than 10 seconds to a single slide, you get a small message to try to make it shorter. It may sound limiting, but is actually a good help in making more accurate explanations and ensuring a visual variation. Building your video from multiple short slides in no more than 10 seconds gives you great help in creating videos with a good flow. Each slide can contain everything from icons to videos, and the built-in search engine lets you easily add visual material that can legally be used in your video.
When you are finished you can style with different themes and music.
It is probably not a tool to go much in-depth with a topic but is good for opening up a difficult topic or instructions.
You can also ask your students to make some videos yourself eg. as an alternative to student presentations. Here they can explain a concept, pitch an idea or reflect on the work done.
Adobe Spark is available as an app for tablet and smartphone, but can also be accessed through your browser. You can either share your video via a direct link or download it as a video file that you can upload anywhere. For best audio quality use the app for mobile - unless you have a good microphone for your computer.
