Notion is a kind of mix of a document tool and a website builder - it is just as easy to work with as a document, but you have a website building block. With these building blocks available, you can present all kinds of web content and facilitate various forms of collaboration.
Instead of single documents, you have a network of pages. On these pages you can add content such as: video, files, other pages, to-do lists, dates, latex, code etc.
In addition, you can "embed" content from other pages such as google docs, google forms or a paddle. Content that you can interact with directly on the pages. All the content you add you can easily move around and customize in size. Even bullets and text you can just drag around and move so you don't have to copy / paste.
You can create a link to a page in Notion and submit it exactly like any other website. Or you can invite partners to either edit, comment or just read the pages. In this way you can, for example, invite students to comment and discuss the academic content, but not edit it.
One of the more advanced building blocks is the database - a set of tools for organizing a large collection of pages. You yourself define what properties the databases should have in the form of eg. numbers, text, dates, forms, references to other databases, people, tags, etc. These properties form a kind of template for the pages in the database and are a good tool for organizing many pages.
At the same time you give them the opportunity to view the same database in different ways. It is called a "view" and can either be a table, a calendar, a list, a kanban board or a gallery. The image above shows the same database being displayed both as a spreadsheet-like table and a calendar. Imagine that you could organize all your Word documents into an Excel sheet and into an Outlook calendar all at once - this is just one of the many options in Notion!

Below you can find efficient learning activities to get you started
The students learn to collaborate on information gathering and joint construction of knowledge.
The teacher sets the students a task within a well-defined field.
The teacher forms groups of 3-4 students and gives each group a sub-task within the field.
The teacher makes a table of contents for the knowledge bank in Nuclino and sets up the individual sides for each sub-task.

The groups gather information for their individual sub-task and write a text on the sides assigned to them - not just notes.
The teacher starts a peer-feedback-activity.
The groups adjust their texts based on the peer-feedback.
The groups read and discuss the whole text between classes.
The teacher gives general feedback on the whole knowledge bank.
The time required depends of the task, the amount of feedback, and the size of the knowledge bank.

Everybody reads the whole text, but each group is responsible for a special part of the text and becomes an ‘expert group’ for its part.
The teacher provides the groups with a set of reading questions to the individual text parts.
Each group discusses and answers the reading questions to the text for which it is responsible. This part of the activity is tun in Nuclino or Google Docs between classes.
In the next class, new groups are formed with representatives for each ‘expert group’.
The representatives of the ‘expert groups’ present the answers of their individual group to the other members of the new groups. The new groups reach a joint understanding of the whole text and publish a brief answer in a Padlet. (30-45 min.)
The exercise is wrapped up by the teacher highlighting central points of the students’ answers. The students are allowed to ask further questions. (5-10 min.)

The students become conscious of their learning process and, thus, strengthen their learning.
The teachers choose a tool where the student can document their work like Nuclino
The teacher informs the students about the importance of meta reflection on one's own learning. (10 min.)

In this part of the process, new ideas may pop up and input already given can be adjusted. (10 min.)
The group prepares a joint answer and publishes it on new Padlet or in a Google Docs (5-10 min.)
All groups see one another’s answers, and the teacher wraps up. (5-10 min.)
